Fresh Apple Pizza


Fresh Apple Pizza. Recipe for homemade pizza dough with a sweet yummy apple topping. Serve as an appetizer or dessert.


Fresh Apple Pizza


Pizza dough:

  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/2 tsp -1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1-1/2 Tbsp olive oil


  • 3 lbs golden delicious apples
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup packed light-brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup apple juice
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter diced into small cubes


Pizza dough:

  1. Place warm (not hot water) and 1 packet active dry yeast in small bowl. Add sugar.

  2. Let sit for 15 minutes. The mixture will get bubbly and form a film on top of the water.
  3. In a large bowl, add the water/yeast mixture to flour and salt.
  4. Begin to mix in a mixer using hook attachment.
  5. Slowly drizzle 1 Tbsp. olive oil into the bowl.
  6. Knead the dough for 6-8 minutes using the mixer or your hands.
  7. Scrape the dough off the hook, cover with a wet towel, and let sit for an hour in a warm room.
  8. Remove dough from bowl and divide in half.
  9. Flatten dough using hands and/or rolling pin.
  10. Place flattened dough on 2- 8 inch round pans.
  11. Bake at 425 degrees for 10-12 minutes


  1. Peel and core apples then cut into slices a little over 1/4-inch thick. Cut slices in half.
  2. Place apples in a prepared baking dish then toss with lemon juice. Set aside.
  3. In a small saucepan whisk together brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon and apple juice. Add butter then heat mixture over medium-high heat, stirring constantly until it reaches a simmer. Let simmer 30 seconds then remove from heat.
  4. Pour brown sugar mixture over apples, toss to coat.
  5. Place in baking dish and bake in preheated oven 375 degrees until apples are soft, about 35 to 45 minutes
  6. Let cool and pour over pizza crust.

Recipe will make 2 pizzas.
