To freeze green tomatoes: Straight from the garden, wash and remove stem. Slice your green tomatoes 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. Pack containers separating slices with wax paper. Do not thaw before cooking.
To fry: In a skillet, heat oil for deep-frying over medium-high heat. Dip the tomatoes into buttermilk, then cover them with flour, salt and pepper. Deep-fry until golden brown. Serve warm.
